Golgi Apparatus

Proteins produced in the rough endoplasmic reticulum move into a stack of membranes called the Golgi apparatus, named after the Italian biologist Camillo Golgi, who discovered it. Enzymes in the Golgi apparatus attach carbohydrates and lipids to proteins. From there, proteins are sent to their final destinations.
